The DataGater system makes it possible.
If you create a GaterWare edition of your app, you can take off all anti-piracy protections, let people acquire, copy and give it away for free, and use it on as many machines as they want --- just like FreeWare, You will be guaranteed of payment every time it got used. And you will give your users the data privacy and bandwidth of installed software (while relieving yourself of the liability of holding their data for them).
Apps that use the DataGater(tm) system (called "GaterWare") utilize GaterBase(r), a new kind of database gateway that controls how data fields can be used. Data collection is free but payment is required before analysis can be done. Users pay a once-per-project fee, based on the size of their project. The only time any internet connection is required is for the payment-transaction, which the DataGater(tm) system handles for you behind the scene.
